The Australian and NSW governments are funding the Coffs Harbour bypass. The project includes a 12 kilometre bypass of Coffs Harbour from Englands Road in the south to Korora in the north, and a two kilometre upgrade of the existing highway between Korora and Sapphire. The bypass seeks to improve connectivity, road transport efficiency and safety for local and interstate motorists.
Roads and Maritime Services has recently released the preferred concept design, which you can view and comment on using CollabMap.
The preferred concept design includes some changes since the preliminary concept design was displayed to the community. These changes include:
Confirming cuttings or land bridges at the major ridgeline crossings at Gatelys Road, Roberts Hill and Shephards Lane
Refining the previously displayed design for the Korora Hill and Englands Road interchanges
Reducing the width of the central median.
